Clara A. Wilbrandt

I am a graduate of both the University of Colorado’s School of Arts and Sciences and its Law School. I was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2009. I have exclusively practiced family law since 2011.

My road to the law was a long and circuitous one. Following stints as a ski instructor, cooking teacher, caterer and bed and breakfast proprietor, I returned to finish college in the wake of a difficult divorce. With children in tow, I received my Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude with distinction from the University of Colorado and enrolled in law school the following year. While I enjoyed the intellectual challenge of law school, I happily note that my crowning achievement as a first-year law student was my receipt of the much coveted grand prize in the law school chili cook-off for my “Habeus Porkus” green chili with pork and posole. During my second year of law school, still heady from my chili cook-off victory, I began to focus on the study of family law. To expand my knowledge beyond the law school classroom, I interned with two Denver District Court judges both of whom had a domestic relations docket. I graduated from law school with a Juvenile and Family Law Certificate with honors.

I have three grown children, not surprisingly all good cooks and great skiers, and two dogs who eat very well. When I am not busy with family obligations or the practice of law, I enjoy hiking, trail running, and winter sports. To defrost after the winter sports, I especially enjoy activities related to warm, sunny beaches and tropical climes.
