Mediation is an informal and confidential resolution process conducted by a neutral third party (the mediator). Mediators facilitate communication and negotiation between parties with the end goal of helping them reach a voluntary settlement of all or some of the issues in dispute. At Wilbrandt Law, both parties meet with an attorney-mediator at my office. Although your mediator is a licensed attorney, she will not provide legal advice, take sides or decide how your case should be settled. Mediation is non-binding until the parties sign a written agreement (typically a “Memorandum of Understanding” or “MOU”) that details their settlement. Please be aware that people who utilize the mediation services of Wilbrandt Law cannot later avail themselves of the other DIY Packages or engage me to represent them in connection with the underlying divorce or parenting dispute.
My mediation packages are priced competitively and include the costs for both parties. There are no hidden costs or additional fees unless additional mediation sessions are necessary to fully resolve your case.
